Decatur, TX — March 1 (Special) Receipts at Decatur Livestock Market were 1489 head including: 33 bulls, 198 cows, 32 calves, 85 Longhorns, 443 stocker heifers, 406 stocker bulls/steers, 158 feeder heifers, 142 feeder bulls/steers. Average prices $501, February 22 $477. A year ago $457. Weaned calf segment of sale set the tone for the market with 3-5 weight steers $8/cwt higher and 6-8 weight $4-6 higher. 2-4 weight heifers $2-5 higher. 6 weights $6 higher while others weights steady. Packer prices are high yielding cows $3 higher with bulls $4 higher with resultant higher prices on better bred cows of $30-90/head.
